Only a few more days until ACL and I could not be more excited. This will be my eighth year and I’m looking forward to creating new memories with friends; while enjoying some live music and adult beverages. Every year I write a blog post on the gluten-free food options at the ACL Eats food court. There are plenty of options this year (many not listed on their website), but first I want to talk to you about something a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

Tuesday Treasures: Gluten-Free at Fleming’s

There are a wide variety of steak houses where you can order a modified gluten-free friendly dish, but Fleming’s is one of those steak houses that takes it to the next level and offers a large gluten-free menu. I had the chance to dine at one of the Austin Fleming’s locations recently and was pleasantly surprised at how large the gluten-free menu is, how knowledgeable the wait staff and chef were about the gluten-free lifestyle, and how eager they were to learn more about the lifestyle. Gluten-Free at Austin Restaurant Week, September 2010

Austin Restaurant Week is just around the corner. It’s time to start thinking about where you want to dine this year. Fortunately, just like last year, ARW is providing plenty of gluten-free options. I’ll be heading to La Sombra, The Carillon, Frank and Fino this year. There are so many great restaurants to choose from, all with special priced menus. Several restaurants will be serving lunch this year, so make sure and check out their menu options.

Austin Restaurant Week is taking place September 19-22nd and September 26-29th.  This year, 5% of restaurant week sales will be going to the Sustainable Food Center of Austin. Go out and eat great food for a great cause. [Read more...]
