Edit: February 8, 2010. I get a lot of questions asking if GTS Kombucha is gluten-free. The answer is YES, it is. Along with our local company, Buddha’s Brew.
Kombucha is one of my favorite healthy drinks. It takes a while to get used too. Some say that is smells a little funky.
I have tried plenty of brands out there and the one that is the most consistent with flavor is GT’s Kombucha. They recently came out with 4 new flavors.
Of the new four flavors, No. 7 is my favorite. With hints of hibiscus and orange peel, it is spicy and satisfying.
It has 60 calories for the whole bottle, 4 grams of sugar and 14 carbohydrates. Vitamins (such as the B-vitamins) and probiotics are naturally occurring in the drink because of the fermentation process.
According to GT’s bottle, some of the benefits of drinking kombucha include:
1) Digestion support
2) Faster metabolism
3) Immune system support
4) Appetite control
5) Weight control
6) Healthier Liver function
7) Body alkalinity
8) Anti-aging
9) Cell integrity
10) Healthy skin and hair
The ingredients are: 100% raw kombucha, hibiscus, orange peel, chamomile and fresh pressed ginger.
If you have never had one, you will most likely get a slight buzz from it. You can get your legal buzz on while you work!
GT’s kombucha may now be found at most grocery stores around town. Whole Foods and Central Market seem to have the largest selection of flavors.
Cheers!
